Macau recorded MOP 18.063 billion in gross revenue from games of fortune in September 2026, down 1.2% from the same month last year, according to the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau's monthly table.
The latest figure is also below August's MOP 21.891 billion. DIP's calculation from the published totals puts that month-to-month decline at approximately 17.5%.
A weak month and a positive year-to-date total
The regulator's figures show two different comparisons:
- September 2026: MOP 18.063 billion, versus MOP 18.289 billion in September 2025.
- January–September 2026: MOP 187.116 billion, versus MOP 181.341 billion a year earlier, a reported increase of 3.2%.
September was the lowest monthly total in the January–September 2026 table. The cumulative increase means that this month's decline should not be described as a decline for the entire year to date.

What the figures do not tell poker players
This is a market-wide gaming revenue measure, not a count of poker players, a poker-room attendance report or a casino profit figure. It does not establish whether a particular poker room has more tables running, softer games or shorter waiting lists.
DIP view
The useful takeaway is to keep the comparison period attached to the headline. A lower September total can coexist with a higher nine-month total. These figures alone do not identify the cause of the monthly change, so we are not attributing it to a visitor trend, a policy change or player behaviour without separate evidence.
For a poker trip, room availability and personal travel costs still need their own checks. An industry revenue announcement is not a reason to increase your playing budget.
