Lesson 3 is up! This time, we're slowing things down and looking at what you can actually DO when it's your turn.
Check, call, bet, raise, fold. Five little words that can feel very confusing when everyone else already knows them. No need to pretend you do. Pull up a chair 🙂
If nobody has bet on this round, you can check and keep your cards without adding chips. But if someone bets 4 chips, you can't just check again. That's when calling, raising or folding comes in.
We'll follow one practice hand in pictures and try each choice separately. You'll see who puts chips in, how many they add and what stays in the pot. There's also a small but useful difference between "raise TO 12" and "raise BY 12". Yep, those mean different amounts.
